Alexandria Awad
Ms. Awad’s success comes from her litigation skills, developed while working in New York City, representing individuals with mesothelioma against corporate giants in talcum powder litigation. One of her biggest achievements took place in 2019, while holding part of the trial team hat secured the historic $325 million verdict for an individual who
developed mesothelioma after decades-long use of Johnson & Johnson talc products. Further, Ms. Awad’s vast experience includes litigated personal injury matters for clients in New York City, Long Island and Hudson Valley.
Biography
Ms. Awad has successfully authored, argued dispositive and evidentiary motions before New York’s trail and appellate courts. Her reported Appellate decisions include: Dalton
v. North Ritz Club, 147 A.D.3d 10017 (2d Dep’t 2017) (reversing trial court’s order and
reinstating plaintiff’s previously dismissed Complaint); McVea v. County of Orange, 186
A.D. 3d 1221 (2d Dep’t 2020) (affirming trial court’s order granting claimant permission to
file a late notice of claim against a municipal entity); Telesco v. Smith, 200 A.D.3d 1140 (3d
Dep’t 2021) (affirming trial court’s order denying summary judgment to defendant in ice
slip and fall action).
She has gained statewide recognition as a contributing author to the New York State
Trial Lawyer Association’s annual Decisions continuing legal education seminar.
Ms. Awad authors the “Discovery” Chapter, offering her analysis of every discovery-
related decision issued each year by the New York Appellate Division and the Court of
Appeals. Attorneys and law firms statewide use her Discovery Chapter as a tool for their
motion practice.
Ms. Awad earned her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School
in Washington, D.C. During law school, she served as an honors law clerk with the
United States Environmental Protection Agency, and twice served as a law clerk with
the United States Coast Guard. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paula
Feroleto, Administrative Judge of the Eighth District of New York, in Buffalo, New York.
Ms. Awad’s accomplishments as a litigator in New York has earned her recognition by
the New York Metro Super Lawyers year after year.
